Adriatic Euroregion represents IN BRUSSELS
The initiative to create a development strategy in ADRIATIC.
In the spotlight of the many global challenges that are facing the Adriatic territory in order to achieve the objectives of economic, social and territorial cohesion, the Adriatic Euroregion members have taken an initiative to establish the development Strategy of Adriatic.
Taking into account the purpose of strengthening the European
territorial cooperation and to provide an EU strategy conducive to the
development of macro-regions, the Adriatic Euroregion aims to inform
European institutions and European stakeholders the need to establish a
Adriatic development strategy that will contribute to overcome
inequalities that characterize the Adriatic area.The conference was hold
at the Commitee of Regions building on February 24, 2010.The welcome
speech was hold by Mr. Ivan Jakovčić the President of Adriatic
Euroregion Creating Initiative Adriatic Euroregion Strategy The
reflections on the needs to create a development strategy in the
Adriatic region was trasmitted by:
Danuda Huebner, Chair of the Committee for Regional Development in the
European Parliament.
Jasna Ognjanovic, Vice President of Mission of Croatia to the EU.
Maurizzio Greganti, Advisor to the Italian consulate in the EU.
Marco Ricardo Rusconi, Adviser, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
Giovanna Andreola, IPA Management Authority / Adriatic.
Ferdinand Poni, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of
Albania, who in his speech after thanking on behalf of the Albanian
Government for the work of the organization to all contributors since
its foundation and so far in the presentation of this important
initiative, at the same time assured the authorities to present the
decentralization in giving competences to guarantee the autonomy to
consolidate local authorities will continue and our country, that would
mean that we will be a serious partner in this joint initiative.
The representative took the floor and discussed the European Parliament
(Euro-parliamentary) and the Adriatic Local Authorities who will support
this initiative, but must understand that it should be in a right
relation with the European policies in the area in question, and not
simply a formal copy of some previous strategies in the Baltic and the
Danube.
Last reflections presented in his discussion was the President Sen.
Michele Iorio of Molise Region, vice president of the Adriatic
Euroregion, which thanked the participants as assured them that we will
work together to enhance the attention of European institutions involved
in this strategy of development programs in the Adriatic area.
As it is known the Regional Council of Shkoder is a member of the
Adriatic Euroregion since its establishment, a member of its executive
council and an active supporter of this initiative. From this
institution participated in the conference Mr. And Mrs. Andrea Jakova
and Ms. Etleva Paplekaj.
